I bought MS Money in 2008 and it was an email download. last month my hard drive crashed and I need to reload but did not get a CD. How do I get a reload without buying again?
Also I have an older version but can't sign into it using my msn email account even though last month before hard drive crashed i could. Need help signing in ASAP?
I have been using MM for a while and its been good, but now I am moving on and getting a new 8.1 PC etc., so I don't want to be stuck with old software if MM is not supported anymore.
So having used MM for all my bill pay/banking/checking/bill pay, what is the best program to transition into and export/import all my existing MM data, Quicken, Quickbooks, or something else? I want it to be as simple as possible, thanks.

The newest on the scene is the MSMoneyQuotesTrial.exe program. Program that reads a lot of good data into Microsoft Money from MSN servers. This information includes many of the columns in the Portfolio that stopped updating with the servers. This one gives
intra-day quotes and a lot more. It allows more than one price to be downloaded during the day. Note that downloading this information regularly probably grows the size of the Money file more than others.

Way cool. This fills in data for the columns that stopped updating when the servers went down, including "last, change, open, high, low, 52 week high, 52 week low, ask, beta, bid, market cap, shares outstanding, PE, volume, and yield." This can be done more than once per day.
I expect some people may use a scheduled Windows task to invoke this program automatically. I expect fun discussions on the various possibilities.
Some wilder thoughts: the command line options offer to let you update a specified file, but it will default to the open Money file by default. We remember that quotes used to be a big factor in the size growth in Money files. So maybe some of us might run two Money files... one with all of the investment info, and one slower-growing. Anyway, it does honor Money's selection of about what quotes get downloaded.
An idea for a future feature would be to trim some old quote data from files -- maybe keep weekly or monthly quote data.
There may be a more authorative posting being written. This is exciting.
I have just bought a new laptop with Windows 8.1. I have installed MM Plus on it, which was also installed on my old laptop. When I try to activate it on my new laptop, I get the message
"Money activation was unsuccessful. Please confirm your product key and check that your computer is connected to the internet. (Error 1017)."
The product key is correct and my computer is connected to the internet. I have uninstalled Money from my old laptop in the hope that this would also free up the licence. However, after doing this and attempting to activate Money from my new laptop, I get the same message. What do I need to do to successfully activate Money on my new laptop? I do not wish to upgrade.
Does anyone know if there is a current method of accessing AT&T Universal card OFX directly? I had been using the citicard settings successfully and now, even though it seems to pass the test in setup.py, no data is downloaded. This has been the case for quite some time, perhaps as long as a year.

It was possible until WIN8.0 to work with MS Money2000 using Digitizer Pen with TPT2.
But now with TPT8 >> no Digitzer/Pen available there you can only operate programs by touchscreen/finger!
Is this a driver problem of WIN8.1 or can I use the MS Money 2000 only by mouse/pen??

I have used the QIF export import method to import all the accounts in a file ( Money 2000 Standard International version to Money Plus sunset), it was successful. There is only one base currency investment account in these imported accounts.
However, when I import another file using exactly the same method as above, from my Microsoft Money standard 2000 International Version to the Microsoft Plus Sunset version, an error message appears : "Cannot be imported, Please confirm that you have the correct file".
This file contains many investment accounts in different currencies, could this be the cause of the error?
Also, there are 120 QIF files selected to import all at once, too many can't handle?
How do I resolve this issue?

Hi. I got a new laptop and downloaded Microsoft money plus home and business v 17.0.150.3817. I downloaded a backup into that from Microsoft money 2005 standard oem version v 14.0.50.1105.
Now I want to load a backed up version from the money plus to the oem standard. When I try that it says I need a password. Both versions of money have same password. When I enter the password it says incorrect password.
I appreciate any help.
i have a account with tcf bank, it keekps telling me that the bank dont accept on line update this is not true because i had MSM once before. do i need to have windows live for this to happen? pleaase help.
I went into Money last night and shut off the link to internet and then set up a password with out an id so that I can sign in with just a password. But today, I cannot get it to take the password or I can't remember it correctly. Is there a way I can reset my password again?
I have scanned various threads in the forum but haven't found an answer to my problem.
I have used MS Money for many years both for personal; and business accounts plus serving some small charities.
Today when I tried to open my business accounts it failed to recognise my password. Clicking on forgotten your password just took me to a MSN page that was no use. I am able to access some accounts but not this one VITAL file How can I check my Microsoft.NET passport in case that is what i need. I have checked and double checked what i am entering. If I can't solve this it will be great for doing my annual tax retuirn!! Aaaargh!

I've being using MSMoney since 2008 to control all of mine and my wife's accounts (bank, savings, credit, investiments,...). Nowadays, I have over 15 accounts on MSMoney.
It always worked fine for me, and I 've being very pleased with MSMoney. I am using the MSMoney Plus Deluxe nowadays running on a Windows 8.1 desktop.
My MSMoney file grew up to 17M.
Recently MSMoney started to present strange behaviors, like not allowing new transactions to be entered, not importing QIF files, etc..., and it requires the MSMoney file to be repaired almost everytime I use MSMoney (I update my account twice a month). Once the file is repaired, MSMoney works normally.
I am very worried about it, as I can't loose my financial history, and, also, I am worried about Microsoft no longer supporting it.
Some questions:
-Is anybody facing issues similar to these?
-How big can a MSMoney file be?
-Does Quicken deserves a try?

My broker has announced that, due to a change of legislation in the UK, a couple of my funds will be "converted" to a different accounting structure. This means that although the value of my holding will be unchanged, the number and value of units will change. How can I best enter this into the portfolio in MS Money?
I can't simply sell and buy back, because this will alter all the capital gains records.
