I have just had to change to Windows 8 (new PC). I have been running Money Sunset Plus for some time on Windows 7 but the download hasn't worked on W8. Has anybody found a UK version of Money Sunset that works on W8 or is this a NO NO.
I say UK 'cos that's where I am. If a US version will work on W8 that would be interesting although dates would be hard to get used to. If W8 has finally said goodbye to Microsoft Money (great shame after years and years of using it...since 97 I think)
has anyone found a good alternative out there which will accept and convert money file. Living in hope, RK

MS Money crash
Using the program on Win 7 Home and in the middle of me inputting a load of transactions it just crashed out. When I try again it gets as far as the homepage and crashes out.
Tried a new blank file and this works ok so the installation is ok.
Try my normal money file again AND it either crashes as soon as I type in my password OR starts filling up the home screen and then crashes.
Any ideas ?

My Money 2005 using XP
I did updates on my computer which had not been updated in a while. After words I did and full scan with Microsoft Essential. The next day I tried to get into my money 2005. It would not come up. If I clicked on it again it would tell me it was already
opened. I tried everything I could think of and the same results. I did a system restore at three different dates to no avail. I tried in the search to look up My Money 2005 and got a error that said the search did not recognize it. Do you have any idea of
what has happened?

Using MS Money To Keep Track Of Charitable Contributions
Hi all,
I've been asked to keep track of church donations, and I was wondering if there is a version of MS Money geared to church business.
For the time being, I am keeping track of donations with Money 2004 (Standard) with a new Money file. Within that new file, I have setup a checking account to record deposits, although I have no authority to write checks. I'm doing this as a favor since I live so close to the bank.

Running variance report against a previous years budget
Hi,
I need some help please. My wife uses MS money to manage a charity finances, just the basic budget reporting, transactions and variance reports etc. Its her end of year so she has entered the next years budget figures in to the app as she does every year...all is fine. However, she now needs to run a variance report against the budget year she has just exited (March), and the actuals are reporting against the new budget year budget figures which means the variance report is wrong.
I don't know anything about MS Money, however can someone tell me
1, do you create a new MS Money file for each budget year to prevent this?
2, if not, how do you differentiate this years budget numbers from last years so that you can run historical variance reports.
sorry if these sound like silly questions, however as stated she just uses the basics and has managed to get by till now.
Any help or guidance would be gratefully appreciated

Note for all versions
It is suggested that all Money users keep a good copy of the installation file, even if the need is not immediate. It will be needed if you reinstall Money in the future. Those links can change, so do a search if you don't find the file you need. Regional versions
Money data files are in a different format for each region. The correct regional version of Money must be used or the data file will not open.

money program wants to make changes to this computor
after reinstalling money deluxe sunset, whenever i start money program, i get a message asking. ( do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computor?) money will not start unless i click yes.

Importing A Second Checking Account To An Existing Money File
Our family has separate checking accounts and each account has its own Money (2004) file. Recently, we have been charging many transactions to a single credit card (Discover) to take advantage of an annual 2% rebate offer. Problem is, I have to write a check
from one checking account several times a month and manually deposit it to the other checking account to cover for the first checking account's credit card charges since only one Money file has the Discover account.
For what it’s worth, these two checking accounts are *not* held at the same bank.
If both checking accounts were a part of the same Money file, I could enter any credit card payments as transfers from either checking account. No check writing would be necessary because I could send payments to Discover via each bank’s bill pay service (electronic payment).
Is combining these two checking accounts in one Money file asking for trouble? Seems like it could muddy the waters as far as reports go. I depend on Money for Payee & Category search information, and that information needs to be segregated. I am also concerned about file corruption.Regards

Format of messages between Microsoft Money (sunset) and moneycentral/MSN Money
As we all know, Money is no longer supported, but like many others I still think it's the best thing since sliced bread! It's still usable, apart from stock updates, which moneycentral/MSN Money stopped supporting last August. Some people have been using OFX files to simulate that functionality, but it's rather messy.
I have sniffed the GET packets Money is sending out, as shown below, and understand much, though not all of that. If I knew the response format that invisapi.dll returned, then I could get the quotes from elsewhere on the web and form the correct POST response. Is there some kind person at MS or elsewhere who could give me the format of the sent and returned data, or at least give me an example of returned data to work from? Alternatively the source code of invisapi.dll should do the job.

Money Sunset Plus Sound not Working
Hello, I am not able to get the sounds working on Money Sunset plus. I am running Windows 8.1. I have verified that the checkbox on my sound settings is checked (Program Settings -> Play Sounds). The sounds stopped working after I ran a system update. Has anyone else experienced this issue? How can I get the application sounds to work again?

Money 2002 Business Version
I have an old, but fully functional version of Money which holds all my small business finances. When I installed it, the password was my MS Passport password, which continued on after the passing away of Passport. Now that I have changed my Live password,
I can no longer access my Money data. I changed my Live password back to the old one to get access but I'm unable to change the Money password - I don't have the option to confirm it. How can I change the Money password to an independent one and be able to
change my Live password?

MS Money 2005 - Password Rejection
I've had an HDD crash, and have restored many of my applications. I have backups of my MS Money 2005 .mbf and .mny files, but 2005 will not accept my password. I have tried 'restoring' files as well 'opening' files, but to no avail. I have tried moving the backups to a USB, but still 2005 refuses to accept my password. Help!

Quote Servers Serving Microsoft Money Gone.
The MSN Money team have completely replaced the old quote servers. They are now getting quotes from Morningstar (http://money.msn.com/). This means that all of the older versions of Money which still connected to the quote servers, and which did not have their services turned off, will no longer be able to retrieve quotes directly from within Money.
Alternatives include HleQuotes, Pocketsense. I use PocketSense to get end-of-day quotes from another quote server and from my broker. HleQuotes is reported to be able to receive quotes for UK exchanges and some others.
