 (for alternative to steps 1 and 2: see download link farther down)

1. With a text editor, such as Notepad, create a 4-line file that
contains the content between, but not including, the begin and end lines:

=== begin W10_MSM1.reg 4 lines (for W10 64-bit)=====================
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer]
"Version"="9.11.10240.0"
========== end W10_MSM1.reg==============

=====begin W10_MM32.REG 4 lines (for W10 32-bit)===================
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer]
"Version"="9.11.10240.0"
=======end W10_MM32.REG =======================

2. Name or rename the file to W10_MSM1.reg or W10_MM32.REG  as appropriate

3. Run that file as Administrator.

Here are download links to files:

 -------------- Windows 10 64-bit -----------------------------
