Just to report that I used the Windows File History feature for the first time today to restore a Money file that had become corrupted.
File History is straightforward to set up from the Windows Control Panel. One caveat is that you can't back up to the drive that Windows is installed on - it needs another physical drive. I'm using an iSCSI volume on a CentOS (Linux) machine but it doesn't need to be as complicated as that, a USB drive would suffice.
The advantage of File History over Money's own mbf backups is - at least for me - that it creates multiple Money file backups in a single day whereas my mbf regime has only the last created mbf for a given day. I'll still maintain multiple daily generations of mbfs though as a second backup option.
